Mr. Laloe is a senior investment professional with over 25 years of experience
in emerging markets. He has successfully sourced, executed, and managed
cross-asset investments in Latin America, covering debt, equity, and illiquid
special situations (NPL, PE, Credit). Over the years, he has built a strong
network with shareholders, business owners, and C-level executives in the
region.
Christian began his career as a prop trader with Merrill Lynch’s principal group, trading FX and IR options in Brazil.
He then moved to London to the buy side as a Portfolio Manager for Latam at Argo Capital, where he co-managed the Argo Special Situations Fund and the Argo GEM Bond Fund. Since 2004, he has been actively involved in securitization and consumer finance credit in Brazil, as well as in corporate credit across Latin America since 1998.
From 2010 to 2018, he was invited by the founders of BTG Pactual to join their efforts in developing the bank’s international operations in London, focusing on EMEA.
Christian was instrumental in establishing the offshore DCM and cash bond market-making business for BTG Pactual, where the bank ranked as a top 3 player for Latam during his tenure.
